Is it just rhetoric,
or is it really the end of
sprawl development in Charles County?
Experts provided public backing for switching Charles County to Smart Growth at an April 28th Land-Use Marketplace Forum hosted by the county government.
Stewart Schwartz, Executive Director of the Coalition for Smarter Growth: "Usually when you run these scenarios about the future of growth in a jurisdiction, most people will end up agreeing that a Smart Growth scenario is going to work best."

I think there's plenty of access points to the water. I think we need to do a better job of taking care of the water so when people do access the water, they can have healthy fish to eat and clean water to get into to swim around."
Dr. Christine Conn, Maryland Department of Natural Resources: "There's a wide body of support within DNR that are concerned about what's happening in Charles County and want to be able to provide the county with the information it needs to make the choices it needs to make."
